Questions about a guide
If a recipe, drop count or safety note is unclear, ask us. It helps to include the page you were reading, the oil and carrier oil you have, the bottle size you are working with and what you want to achieve. The more specific the question, the more useful the answer, and good questions often become new guides. We can explain what the published research says and how our recipes work, but we cannot give personal medical or veterinary advice. If you are pregnant, nursing, managing a health condition, taking medication or caring for a sick pet, please talk with your doctor, pharmacist or veterinarian.
Brand and product suggestions
If you want us to research a brand, compare two products or look into a kit or diffuser, send the name and tell us what you most want to know. Useful details include where you found it, the price, the botanical names on the label and whether the brand publishes GC/MS test reports. We review products from research, not hands-on lab testing, and we do not accept payment, free products or sponsorship in exchange for coverage. Brands are welcome to send information such as test reports and sourcing details by email.
Corrections and safety concerns
If you believe a guide gets a dilution, phototoxicity warning, pet safety detail or citation wrong, please tell us and include a source if you have one. We check every report against the evidence and update the guide when it needs fixing.
In an emergency
Do not use this form for emergencies. If someone has swallowed an essential oil, has oil in their eyes and is in pain, or is struggling to breathe, call Poison Control at 1-800-222-1222 or call 911. If a pet may have been exposed, contact your veterinarian or an animal poison control service right away.
